    looks easy but not so much. First cross pieces blew apart. So on to tub drain extractor - even with tapping down the extractor - just spins - no grip. maybe cheap nickel drain

    When you tighten (or loosen) the pressure regulating valve, just to be clear, the water to the house needs to be shut-off, correct? and after the water is shut off, a toilet flushed, or have a faucet running to remove any pressure within the line? Is that correct?

      if it is a metal drain, use plumbers putty. plumbers putty is always recommended for metal

    When i got my house the manager told me to be careful adjusting the water pressure because I could blow the faucets off the wall. In the video you said the regulator wont let it get over 75 even if you screwed it all the way down. Why did he tell me that when he is the building manager hahahaha. mine is rated for 15-75.

    The gasket is actually for the strainer, not under the tub. The instructions indicate this. Plumbers putty also works. Thanks for sharing.

    I was worried when ours went out, but I had it fixed in no time. Thank you from all RUclips warriors. The one extra tool I needed was a “tub drain extractor” as ours was too corroded to use the wrench to turn it out. -Hope that helps someone in the future!

    Just did a tub drain replacement. Well, just tried. First, tub wrench worked on old drain. BUT, it did not fit the new drain! Holes in a new drain from Home Depot required me to file down the four parts of the wrench. THEN, the new drain would not screw into the tub. The old one screwed in and out well, but the new one screwed in easily for several turns, then stopped dead, and I mean no way to turn it, even with tub wrench. As if I cross-threaded it except the first several turns went super-easy and felt correct. Not sure what to do now but return the new drain and try another? Any help? I even greased the threads and cleaned out the tub threads with a wire brush. Thanks.

    Can you do a close-up of how to remove the part with the plastic connection to the toilet tank? I'm not able to get that part off to connect a bidet. It's super tight. Do I use a tool and should I be turning it left to remove?

  • @austinjamesmusica

    I did it as tight as I can but I broke the drain cross-section :( either Home Depot shouldn’t sell such a cheap drain, or we shouldn’t twist them in as hard as we can

    My water pressure is exactly 90. Been living in this house for years with no problem. Should I be concerned?

    • @ethandumas6937

      Did u get an answer I have 90 also with no problems

    • @whez08
      @whez08 16 дней назад

      @@ethandumas6937 The reason I asked was because I installed a tankless toilet and there was a strong water hammer, which I thought was due to the higher pressure. But then I put a water hammer arrestor and that solved the problem. I got no answer here and I don't plan to do anything else since I've been living with that exact water pressure with no issues for many years.

    • @aaronneal2594
      @aaronneal2594 15 дней назад

      Yes it's too high and against code. Most likely you will wear down pipes and things like dishwasher and washing machine.

      @aaronneal2594 my house seems to have 1 inch supply line were the prv is on the front of the house by the hose bib and the irrigation stations in the back also have 1 inch pipes the irrigation store said we need the ones for 1 inch pipe they only sell 3/4ths at home depot u know, so what size prv would I need for the 1 inch pipe? Or maybe it is 90 because of the 1 inch pipe,but I think it reduces inside the house because the stub outs for everything is 1/2

  • @dap777754

    What about this - my water pressure on the hot water side is about half of the pressure (or volume) on the cold-water side. In other words, all faucets push out a strong stream of cold water but a relatively weak stream of hot water. Why is that? I just spent a week replacing everything I could think of at the water heater itself: new feed hoses, new nipples, new expansion tank, new anode, flushed it 10 times. No effect on the pressure differential. Any ideas?
